Trade wives and sell children...

Was about the ONLY thing not going on today in the streets. Mind you I am not so sure on the trading wives thing. Reagardless, it was Mardi Gras day. A metric buttload of people in kool costumes, drunk fools, and drunk fools in kool costumes.

I decided not to work and just wander around. I got as decadent as I could by drinking a coke, eating a butter finger and carrying around a bag of Doritos in Jackson Square. (I'm a party aminal I tells yah.) So now it's 40 days and 40 nights of rain.. no wait.. of lent. So for those who gave up lent for lent.. good for you.

I decided not to take photos today for two reasons. One: I left the camera in the car. B: you really need to experience Mardi Gras for yerself so you have to get off yer lazy ass like I did and come see it. Also if you REALLY wanna see photos I am sure there are plenty of sites to see them.

So thaz my report from NOLA. This journal is now official closed until my trip to Chicago in a few months. we'll keep yaah updated. Thanx for joining us!!

I hate the sea and everything in it....

Mind you I am referring to the sea of idiots here in Nawlins. I actually accomplished one of my goals and got invited to a private party and got to stand on a balcony on Bourbon Street. Allow me to prove it to you...

ok so no big deal right? Well look at it at NIGHT!!!

Morons as far as the eye can see.

See that guy in the first one? With the big "Jeebus" sign? Yah they are EVERYWHERE out here. Personally we think it's a hell of a ploy. "I can't go party in NOLA buuuuuut if I am (Finger quotes)saving souls(/Finger Quotes) then I can GO!! YAY JEEBUS!!" Anywho.. not everyone likes them.

Now when one guy is holding a sign and the other is saying "Satan loves you, he wants you to have fun" well damn.. thaz entertainment.

(To the guy with the signs testament, he was having fun with it. Guy with a sense of humor who is religious. GASP!!)

Of course tonight was the best ironic moment when we snapped this photo...

Personally I think God is in trouble with people like this working for him.

All right enuff of that, let's meet some of the last street performers here in NOLA.

This girl is one of the crate slugs (See: statue mime) I actually like.

This is Valentino from Yugoslavia.. he's kool.

Here's another... his face and alla the marionettes.

This girl drums for yer dollars. Nice person too.

RANDOMNESS!!! A float I snapped a photo of out the car window... great sculpture.

ok ok.. last few.. this is one of the first people I met out here at the beggining of the month.

And this is Jamie. She is an artist and crazy.. ina good way.

We'll be back on the 10th in Dallas to film a pilot for a TV show. More on that later. Tomorrow I go see Cowboy Mouth!! Be kool everyone.

Oh one last thing... we went to a little fetishy/goth thing the other night...

and in two months on A&E you MIGHT get to see me doing magic for Gene Simmons.

Would you say I have a plethora of pinata's?

No but damn there is a lot of photos...

one of the many "mimes" NOLA has to offer. This is Uncle Louie. He stands like that for a very long time.

I give you.. the graffiti on the public bathroom wall.

Another statue mime. His name is Tim and beer makes him work.

Sometimes I think about just standing still in my strait jacket to make money.

This one actually does something. Moves around like a wind up doll and makes mechanical sounds. Quite nifty. (You can see more of Ahda Hann Here).

Ok a mime is a terrible thing to waste... kinda. This is a juggler guy who unicycle with a kid on him. Can you say liability?

I think this is titled "Bobbit if he got caught stealing in Muslim country".

Bird man. That is all.

Finally my hand as it looked Sunday night after someone got a little buzzed and bored. (note: not me.)

This is just a taste of the zany crap gong on out here. Right now the weather is cold, rainy, and ass.

Hope all is well where you are.

Foteuxs....

Yes more evidence of my trip to the land of stuid drunk people.

Jimmy, Sketch, and Cozmo.. street guy from NY.

New Orleans finally gets to Bizzaro.

Cozmo tries to ineffectively hide his money.

Yes Harry Anderson lives in NOLA and owns a magic shop called SIDESHOW (and this is the proof).

Saw an "official" parade today. I liked the "locals" parade better. Got a sticker I'll take a photo of later.

Tomorrow the Warpo gathering.

Holy Shit it's Christmas!!

Er January.. whatever. I got photos. WOW AMAZING!!! Ahem... so here we go.

The prettiest of the plethora of tarot readers out here. Wyndee is her name and fortelling yer doom is her game.

My personal fave photo. Keith, Jimmy, Sketch, and Doc Andrews. What are they looking at? No clue.

Dwayne on break...

James aka: Jimmy Talksalot. Performing street theater. His family brought it over here 300 years ago....

and the two guys standing behind him.

Want more? Damn yer a glutton for punishment. More soon!!

A monday,a monday...

Well instead of Knights o' Sleights we opted to hit the Murder Bar on the west bank(which is on the east side?) with the local street mages. Jimmy Talksalot, Dante, Elliot, Mr. Andrews, and the esteemed Mr. Doug Conn.

The night went from playing pool, eating pizza, and talking about stuff to let's see who can screw up magic tricks the best. Good time had by all. This sunday the Warpo gathering.

Now the first official photo from NOLA!!!

Woooeh the money...

Or something.. imagine a cajun guy saying it. Regardless, to answer some of the comments... or more precisely one in particular, the variety show went fine. I video taped it... then accidentally taped over it (BLAST!!) So that blows goats. There were a few other acts. Knife throwin', a musical act with siamese twins singing the song from White Christmas, and a sideshow. Those are the most memorable acts but honestly, we were all stars in the goat show.

I have created a gambit for getting money and FINALLY had a good money day friday and a not so bad one saturday. (A little too rainy.) Today is cold. Mr. Sketch is working the streets. Fyne by me. Let him freeze his sponge balls off. So until we get the net fixed where I am staying this is me until next time. Pardi on Garth.

what's another word for a quickly drawn picture...

Here is a little plug for the owner of the place we are staying at here in New Orleans. His site hasn't totally propogated yet but in a day or two you should be able to go to SketchMagic.com and see his brand spanking new website all prettied up by yers truly for yer perusal.

In other news: It's facking cold here. Bad for business. Mardi Gras fast appraoches. Craziness abounds. More to come...

Partly cloudy with a slight chance of rain...

WHERE ARE THE PHOTOS MAGIC BITCH!!!

Still in the camera. We don't have the right cable to get them on the computer but when we do.... photos galore. Weather has been cold and rainy. Bad for business, good for cuddling.. with myself.

Regardless, tonight I have a 10 minute stage set in a variety show. Yay new footage. Gonna do my strait jacket, weird, and fire routines. I'll try to update more frequently as we now have net access at the place we are staying.

Keep a light on for us.

At least I'm not sticky...

Weather has been cold and rainy but we got to meet the competit..er.. other street performers. Actually they are all nice people. Very talented most of them. This weekend however has been dead traffic and money wise. It'll pick up tho'. Tomorrow we go to the Monday Knights of Sleights meeting hosted by Mr. Jon Racherbaumer so as it stands.. all is well. Back soon.
